How To Crack RAR,ZIP Files

I decided to create a tutorial on how to crack rar, zip, and 7zip files. Keep in mind this does only work on Unix systems. I tried to make this tutorial as noob friendly as possible. So lets get started.
(Keep in mind, sometimes depending on your system you have to write sudo before the command.)

Installing:

So before you start downloading and configuring make sure you have these packages installed: pthreads, libxml2. 7zip, unrar, unzip

If you do not have them you can type these commands to install them

sudo apt-get install libevent-pthreads-2.0-5

sudo apt-get install libxml2

sudo apt-get install unrar

sudo apt-get install unzip

sudo apt-get install p7zip

So then you want to download the tar file from http://adfoc.us/4557128227020 ( How to Download for noobs : Click the Link, Wait 5 seconds, On the Top RIght Corner it will redirect you to the download sectio. If it redirects to some shit site, yuou might have clicked on an advert )

when you have downloaded the file cd it's location and type:

tar -xjf rarcrack-0.2.tar.bz2

Then you want to cd the rarcrack folder and type "make " then type

make install

Now if you type "ls" you should see a executable file named "rarcrack".

Cracking:

So now when you have installed rarcrack I am going to show you how to crack a rar/zip/7zip file. So if you look in the folder you can see that rarcrack comes with 3 test files, one rar, one zip, one 7zip. To crack the rar file type:

./rarcrack test.rar --threads 12 --type rar

The cracking process will take 2-5 minutes maybe depending on your computer speed. To crack a password with 5 characters would probably take 30min - 1hour ... But from personal expericenses I've found that people do not use so hard passwords for zip/rar files.
